RELEASE: The Black Hand Theatre company of London Ontario is excited to announce their invitation to represent Canada at the 2007 Prague Fringe Festival May 27th to June 3rd. The Company was dubbed official show of the festival and has their image on the front of the program, website and all festival advertising!

This young company entered the local theatre scene in 2005 with a bang. Their first production, Blow this Popsicle Stand was an entry in the One Act Festival held at The Grand Theatre. The play was written and directed by Stephanie Demas who was a high school student at the time. It was a hit winning accolades for best script, best actor (both leading and supporting) people’s choice and adjudicator’s choice for best show.  The adjudicator, Canadian playwright Alan Stratton, called it “a sheer delight”. It later went on to win the 2005 Brickenden award for Best Original Script. Due to popular demand, the show was remounted this summer at the 2006 London Fringe Festival.

Going on the journey is Londoners, Boneyard Man’s; Jayson McDonald, Stage Manager; Alexis McDougall, Playwright/Director; Stephanie Demas, and local actor Tyler Parr.

Excitingly, the Black Hand Theatre is one of the Five Canadian companies hand picked to perform in the Czech Republic. For more information please visit: http://www. Blackhandtheatre.com
