The wait is over! Finally, a chance to see the greatly acclaimed Blow This Popsicle Stand on stage at the London Fringe Festival. The winner of five London One Act awards, including Best Original Script, People’s Choice Award and Best Overall Production, as well as the 2005 Brickenden for Best Original Script, makes its highly anticipated return this summer.
Frank, a popsicle who has fallen through the cracks, ponders life outside the freezer box as his usually solitary existence is touched by some eccentric passers through in The Black Hand’s Blow This Popsicle Stand.
The Black Hand is excited to welcome some vibrant new talent for this production. Blow This Popsicle Stand stars Daniel Sadavoy as Frank, our frosty protagonist, and Ira Pettle in three delightfully dynamic roles. Daniel returns to the Fringe after his incredible performance in last year’s award winning Joemosomo. If you missed him the first time, be sure to catch him this summer. Ira comes to us after training with The Second City in Toronto and the musical theatre program at Randolph Academy for Performing Arts. He’s an energetic performer and a pleasure to watch in action.
Stephanie Demas, Writer/Director/Producer and Founder of The Black Hand: Revolutionizing Theatre, is a shining inspiration within the London theatre scene. Her first effort was the original version of Blow This Popsicle Stand for which she won numerous awards. She went on to co-produce the much celebrated Retreat From Moscow and direct P&J: The Mock Musical, last year’s Best of Fringe winner.
Co-Produced and Stage Managed by Alexis McDougall.
If you missed it the first time, don’t let it pass you by again!
